Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The celebration was first established in 1971 and was designed to recognize that early childhood years (birth through age eight) are crucial in laying a solid foundation for children’s success in school and later life.
In celebration of the Week of the Young Child, the Southern Museum is offering free/reduced admission for families with young children 8 and under. The first child under the age of 8 will be admitted free; additional children in the same family will be admitted for only $2.25! These prices are valid April 12-16 ONLY and are for individual admissions only – no groups, please. In addition, special children’s activities are planned for April 12-16 and will be offered hourly from 10 AM to 4 PM daily (unless otherwise noted below).
