Railroad Rendezvous Kicks Off, Goes Until 4 p.m.
The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History’s inaugural Railroad Rendezvous kicked off this morning.
The family friendly event will be held until 4 p.m. today and features a range of indoor and outdoor events, including live music, operating railroad layouts, a hobo jungle and more.
“We’re excited about the turnout during the first hour, and we’re enthusiastic about the events we have planned for the day,” said Valerie Serra, events coordinator for the Southern Museum. “Right now, guests are enjoying sack races, railroad safety lessons, live music and interactive railroad layouts. Train buffs of all ages will enjoy checking out the CSX Locomotive parked on the siding next to the historic train depot across the street from the museum.”
Anyone interested in attending can stop by the Museum, located at 2929 Cherokee Street in downtown Kennesaw (exit 273 on Interstate 75).
