What age/grade levels are these workshops designed for? Can I bring older or younger siblings?
Workshops are best suited for students in grades K-5 (or aged 5-12). We anticipate students having some basic reading skills and age-appropriate motor skills (including writing, cutting with scissors, and manipulating small objects). Our workshops are created with these skills and developmental levels in mind.
Older and younger students (outside the K-5th grade range) are welcome to attend, but may need assistance from adults. Younger siblings especially may need assistance from their parents or adults with any building or inventing projects. We require parents/adults to stay with their children for the entire visit, and invite them to participate in the workshop alongside their children!
What do you mean by “drop in” program?
Since this is a “drop in” program, you are welcome to arrive any time between 10am and 1pm, and leave when your family is finished. We recommend at least an hour to fully complete the workshop. We require parents/adults to stay with their children for the entire visit, and invite them to participate in the workshop alongside their children!
Do I stay with my children, or just drop them off?
We require parents/adults to stay with their children for the entire visit, and invite them to participate in the workshop alongside their children!
Do I need to make a reservation?
Nope! No reservations are required. You will check in at the admissions desk and pay your program fee at that time. Parents/adults- please anticipate staying with your children for your entire visit.
Can I stay at the museum after the program?
Sure! The workshop fee includes admission to the museum for the full day.
Can I bring lunch? Is there a space in the museum to eat?
Please do not consume food or drink in the museum. You are welcome to bring a lunch at eat across the street at Depot Park, or visit one of the downtown Kennesaw restaurants nearby.
Is this workshop free with my museum membership?
Yes! A membership might be a good fit for your family if you plan to attend multiple workshops. Click here for more information.
