Museum Magic Family Friendly Event

Magical Fun for Families

The Southern Museum will host a seasonal event full of magical fun for families with young children on October 28, 2017, from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

With a wizarding flair, kids and parents will visit different stations to discover the science behind potions (and even slime!), practice writing with quill pens and invisible ink, learn about stars and astronomy, make a candle, create and play with magical creatures, and even have a chance to design their own wand!

The movie, Monsters, Inc. will also be playing throughout the day in our theater.

Be sure to travel through the invisible tunnel and take a family picture at the haunted forest in your best costume. Sit back and relax from all your activities to watch Monster, Inc., perfect for this event – playing throughout the day in the theater.

Collect stamps in your map and receive treats as you go. All families are encouraged to dress in costume! Bountiful photo opportunities abound in this safe event. While not purposefully scary, you'll find our fun make-and-take activities and treat goodies specially created for families with younger children (ages 3 – 10), but all are welcome.
