Trains, Trains, Trains
Eighth Annual Trains, Trains, Trains
The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History will host the eighth annual installment of its flagship Trains, Trains, Trains event on Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28, 2018. This must-see event for families in the area will be held from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm both days.
This year’s event will feature several new and expanded train layouts. Modular modelers from around the Southeast will join forces to create some of the biggest layouts this event has seen. Athens Bend Track, whose N-scale layout in the Cobb Gallery last year was a huge hit, is teaming up with South Carolina Bend Track to fill the Gallery with an even bigger, even more detailed layout!
Last year’s layout featured everything from a model railroad yard to a model drive-in theater to a fight between a miniature King Kong and a miniature T-Rex, so make sure you stop in to see all the neat details – who knows what you’ll find?
Trains, Trains, Trains 2018 will bring back some of last year’s favorite bluegrass musicians, an expanded General Emporium gift shop with new shirts and toys, and several interactive layouts for kids of all ages to enjoy!
Museum admission for the event is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $5.50 for children ages 4-12, and free for children three and under as well as Museum members.
