Provenance: Diane Latimer Rooks donated these items to the Southern Museum in 2010 as a gift by the many generations of the York, Latimer and Rooks families. It had been passed down to her from her grandmother Mrs. Jessie Lee York Latimer who was the daughter of George Washington York, wife of Joel Luther Latimer (train engineer listed below) and mother of George Newton Latimer.

Description: This series consists of a Civil War-era Diary and a letter dating from 1912, both described below, passed down through her family.
