2010 Summer Day Camps


Your children are going to love the 2010 Summer Day Camps at the Southern Museum! We’re bringing back two old favorites for the ultimate adventure.

Each camp will be held on TWO different days, so you can choose which day works best for you.

Creative Expression

Workin’ on the Railroad

Children ages 5 to 8 years
June 15 & June 16
9 AM – Noon

Children will be thrilled as they explore a REAL railroad depot and caboose at Workin’ on the Railroad. Learning about railroad jobs, signaling and safety, campers will be engaged in a variety of activities including stories, songs, videos and games.

Civil War Soldier Camp

Children ages 7 to 11 years
June 22 & June 23
9 AM – Noon

Time travel is possible at Civil War Soldier Camp, where budding historians will live the everyday life of a Civil War soldier. Campers will perform drills as well as experience camp life and conduct mock battles. They’ll even be outfitted with replica Civil War soldier gear.

The Southern Museum’s 2010 Summer Day Camps are $20 for members, and $30 for non-members. Cost includes a goodie bag that each camper will take home once camp concludes!
