Creativity, Games Focus of Two New Programs at Southern Museum
01/17/08
KENNESAW, GA-Learning history is all fun and games at the Southern Museum, thanks to two new programs designed for preschoolers, aged 3-5, and their parents.
The Kreative Kids and Games for Learning programs join the popular Mommy & Me and Share a Story series in February.
“Young children love to do projects and be active,” revealed museum Early Childhood Educator Judy Parker. “We’ve created programs that teach them about history, but also give them the opportunity to make items to take home and to play games. And both programs are included with regular museum admission.”
The first Kreative Kids program will be on Civil War Canteens. Children will make an essential piece of a soldier’s equipment on February 2 at 10 AM. The first Games for Learning program will be held February 19 at 10 AM and will focus on the history behind some familiar and not-so familiar indoor games.
