Southern Museum's Living History Timeline Event to Run in November

10/26/09 (Kennesaw, GA) — The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History's annual event, Through the Ages: A Living History Timeline, has been rescheduled to November 14th and 15th due to potential inclement weather.

"The event was originally scheduled for October 11 and 12," explained Jeff Drobney, executive director of the Museum. "We think moving the event to November will enable more people to attend, and hopefully we'll have better weather conditions."

The event is still expected to be a fun-filled weekend, with many historical periods thoroughly represented. "Through the Ages is a timeline educational experience of military and civilian life from as early as the Roman army to present military. Some of the best Reenactment and Living History units available will portray civilian and military life with displays, demonstrations and drill within their timeline in history," said Harper Harris, lead interpreter at the Museum.

Through the Ages: A Living History Timeline is now November 14 from 10 AM to 4 PM, and November 15 from noon to 4 PM. This year's event is at Swift-Cantrell Park, located at 3140 Old 41 Highway just west of Kennesaw Elementary School. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children four through 12, and free for children three and under. For more information, contact 770.427.2117, ext 3176, or jpies@kennesaw-ga.gov.
