Yankees to Occupy Kennesaw Sunday

KENNESAW, GA – Soldiers from the 125th Ohio Volunteer Infantry are headed to Kennesaw this Sunday, February 8, but this time the Civil War locomotive, the General, is expected to remain safe.

“Like the raiders who stole the General, these soldiers are from Ohio, but this time we’re going to make sure the General is well guarded,” explained Jennifer Legates, Director of Education for the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History.

The 125th Ohio re-enactment group will encamp at the Museum Sunday where they will hold soldier drills and recruiting activities. At 1:00 and 3:00 PM they will hold musket firing demonstrations. Civil War music is also planned during the free event.
