School Outreach Programs

Have the staff of the Southern Museum visit your school! These outreach programs provide a hands-on history lesson in your classroom. School outreach programs are adapted to your specific grade level.

Early Childhood Outreach
(Grades pre-K – 2)

Working on the Railroad: Railroad jobs and train crossing safety

School Age Outreach
(Grades 3-12)

Soldiers and Civilians: Life at war and home during the Civil War
Stealing the General: Andrew Raiders and the Great Locomotive Chase
Iron Rails: Railroads and Industry in America

Program Information

Single class visits for schools in the Cobb County School district are $75 (40 student maximum); each additional class is $40. A standard mileage fee will be charged.

Outreach programs are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please schedule your programs two weeks in advance. For additional information or to schedule a tour or outreach program, please call 770.427.2117 ext. 3174, programs@southernmuseum.org.
