School Outreach Programs

Bring the Southern Museum to your classroom! With our school outreach programs, museum educators visit your school to provide a standards-based, interactive history lesson designed for your specific grade level..

Early Childhood Outreach
(Grades pre-K – 2)

Working on the Railroad: Railroad jobs and train crossing safety

School Age Outreach
(Grades 3-12)

Soldiers and Civilians: Learn about life at war and at home during the Civil War.

Stealing the General: Discover the exciting story of the Andrews Raiders and the Great Locomotive Chase!

Program Information

Single class visits are $75 (40 student max); each additional class is $40.  A standard mileage fee will be charged for visits to schools outside of a 20 mile radius of the museum.

Outreach programs are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please schedule your programs two weeks in advance. For additional information or to arrange an outreach program, please call 770.427.2117 ext. 3169, programs@southernmuseum.org.
