The General Locomotive The Southern Museum

Families & Kids

Family Fun at the Southen MuseumLooking to get out of the house on a rainy day or spend some quality family time together?  Visit the Southern Museum! The Museum is the perfect place for families to spend an afternoon together that includes learning and fun for adults and children of all ages. The variety of educational and interactive events and exhibits for children will stimulate cognitive learning and comprehension. The Museum also offers regularly scheduled educational programs, such as Homeschool Days for elementary-age children and Mommy and Me Pre-school programs for younger children.

Many of the Southern Museum’s programs on trains and Civil War for kids take place in the Jolley Education Center, which was designed specifically to help children experience history through hands-on and interactive exhibits.

Many of the Museum’s educational programs are made possible with support from the Kennesaw Museum Foundation.
